Sportivo Italiano begin the Primera B promotion playoff against Deportivo Armenio in a 180-minute tie. Tano finished third on 72 points, behind champions Excursionistas and Arsenal, while Tricolor closed the campaign eighth on 63. That nine-point gap gives Italiano the right to host the return leg, but no sporting advantage if the aggregate score remains level.

The first match will be played at República de Armenia in Ingeniero Maschwitz, with the return at República de Italia in Ciudad Evita. The calendar places the games on the weekends of 14 and 21 November. If the sides remain tied after both legs, qualification will be decided by penalties, meaning every goal carries the same value regardless of regular-season position.

Italiano secured their place by beating Villa Dálmine 1-0 in round 42. Facundo Gómez scored after Kevin Giménez's assist, and Matías Giménez's side registered a twentieth league victory. The result also secured qualification for the 2027 Copa Argentina. The ending was positive but included a warning: Máximo Guzmán missed a penalty and the visiting goalkeeper prevented a wider margin.

Armenio reached eighth after drawing 1-1 with Flandria. Fernando Brandán opened the scoring after four minutes, but Alexis Casal equalised in the first minute of stoppage time. Tricolor had already secured playoff participation and used the final round to maintain rhythm. Its exact position became clear when Talleres lost to Comunicaciones, confirming Italiano in third and fixing the pairing.

The 2026 meetings demonstrate strict balance. Italiano won 1-0 in Ciudad Evita in May through Pedro Durante. Armenio responded by the same score in Maschwitz in September, Jonathan Herrera converting a late penalty. The two games contained many bookings—eight in the first and six in the second—evidence of a physical contest where details and emotional control can decide the outcome.

The eight-team bracket also includes Arsenal-Comunicaciones, Talleres de Remedios de Escalada-Real Pilar and Camioneros-Villa Dálmine. The higher finishers host the second leg, but every club must survive a home-and-away tie to move closer to the second promotion place. Italiano carry the stronger campaign and final home game; Armenio know they have already beaten their opponents and can shape the return through the opener.

Tano's central task is preventing a positional advantage from becoming anxious obligation. They must negotiate Maschwitz with order, preserve their attacking capacity and reach Ciudad Evita with favourable control of the tie. Armenio will seek high intensity and a repeat of September's closed contest. After 42 rounds, the table no longer awards points: both sides must convert their entire journey into efficiency over two nights with no room for distraction.
