The Liga Profesional has confirmed the schedule for round 16, the final regular-season matchday of the 2026 Clausura. Fifteen games will run from Thursday 5 to Sunday 8 November, using staggered kick-offs and several direct contests. Eleven teams have already secured playoff places, but five tickets remain, along with positions that will determine home advantage and knockout opponents.

Two Zone B games open the round on Thursday. Relegated Aldosivi host River at 3pm, with the visitors needing to restore discipline and collective function after the Superclásico. Gimnasia La Plata then receive Belgrano at 7.15pm. Both are qualified but can improve their seeding, meaning the opening day remains competitive even though their names already appear in the bracket.

Friday contains six fixtures. Barracas Central host Racing at 3pm. San Lorenzo-Platense, Independiente-Deportivo Riestra and Unión-Vélez all start at 7pm, concentrating much of Zone A's qualification battle. Tigre meet Sarmiento and Banfield face Atlético Tucumán at 10pm. Partial simultaneity requires teams to process information from elsewhere without surrendering control of their own performance.

Saturday brings five matches and many of the decisive scenarios. The Mendoza interzonal derby between Gimnasia and Independiente Rivadavia starts at 3pm, alongside Talleres-Estudiantes de La Plata. Argentinos Juniors-Huracán, Rosario Central-Estudiantes de Río Cuarto and Boca-Defensa y Justicia begin at 5.30pm. All three home teams in that block are qualified, yet their opponents and the annual standings add substantial pressure.

Sunday ends the phase with Central Córdoba-Lanús at 5pm and Instituto-Newell's at 7.30pm. Lanús and Instituto are through, while Newell's remain part of the Zone A race. The late finish means some clubs will know every relevant combination before kick-off. That informational advantage may alter their acceptable level of risk, but it does not remove the requirement to produce the necessary result.

Zone A has Instituto, Boca, Vélez, Defensa y Justicia and Lanús qualified. Newell's, Gimnasia de Mendoza, Independiente, San Lorenzo, Unión and Platense contest three places. Rosario Central, Argentinos Juniors, Gimnasia La Plata, River, Belgrano and Barracas Central are through from Zone B; Independiente Rivadavia, Sarmiento and Huracán fight for the final two. Tiebreakers and final seeding make every goal difference significant.

The schedule turns four days into a sequence of decisions. Early teams can apply pressure; later ones possess clearer information but less time to correct failure. The eleven qualifiers can shape the bracket and protect resources without losing rhythm. Everyone else faces a final compressed into ninety minutes: the regular season offers one last opportunity, after which there will be no points to recover, only direct elimination.
