Nicolás Damiolini completed a season connecting football in Campana with one of Argentina's most significant promotions of the year. The forward was part of the Excursionistas side that won Primera B, contributed six goals and celebrated the club's return to Primera Nacional after 54 years. The title was secured with a 4-0 victory over Sportivo Italiano and one round still to play.

His personal story inside the squad was not linear. Damiolini had joined the Bajo Belgrano club in 2025 and began the campaign from a secondary position. Internal competition required patience, the intelligent use of limited minutes and sustained performance. As the tournament progressed, he earned more starts and became a useful part of a team that maintained its standards across a long campaign.

His six goals do not explain the championship alone, but they provide a concrete measure of his contribution. In a long division featuring travel, different pitches and matches often decided by details, producing in attack from changing roles carries cumulative value. Moving from the bench to the starting line-up expresses daily perseverance, less visible than a final but essential to sustaining an extended campaign.

Excursionistas entered the Sportivo Italiano match with the opportunity to settle the title. David Ledesma, Mariano Arango and Gabriel Tellas scored during the first half to establish a commanding lead. Miguel López completed the 4-0 after the break. The result took the Verde to 81 points and left second-placed Arsenal, on 76, unable to catch them.

The championship crowns a recent period of sporting growth. Excursionistas won promotion from Primera C at the end of 2023, established themselves in Primera B and completed another jump three years later. Returning to the second tier ends a wait dating from 1972 and changes the institutional horizon, bringing different opponents, demands, journeys and budgets for the 2027 season.

For Damiolini, the title also redirects attention towards his origins. Developed in Campana football, he became a representative of a city that follows its players even when their professional stage unfolds elsewhere. That territorial relationship fits the broader character of the promotion system: metropolitan squads are also nourished by careers formed across the towns and cities of Buenos Aires province.

The next step combines celebration with preparation. Excursionistas must complete the final round and then build a squad capable of competing in a large and demanding Primera Nacional. Damiolini enters that process with six goals, an earned role and the experience of becoming a champion. His season shows how collective promotion is also written through individual development that matures beyond the main spotlight.
