The AFA Federal Council granted another group of sporting licences for the 2026 Torneo Regional Federal Amateur. The published roster marks 34 recent additions, expanding the competition's territorial representation only weeks before it begins.
The licences resolved different situations. Some clubs had not qualified through sporting routes because their leagues' places were taken by other institutions, while others depended on their leagues receiving official approval before they could be admitted.
Buenos Aires accounted for 19 of the new entries, with representatives from leagues in Carlos Casares, Baradero, General Villegas, Bahía Blanca, Bolívar, Carmen de Areco, General Arenales, San Pedro, Luján, San Nicolás, Pigüé, Trenque Lauquen and Zárate, among other districts.
The map also added two licences in Chaco, two in Corrientes, two in Misiones and one in Córdoba. Santa Cruz included Boxing Club and Independiente de Puerto San Julián, while Santiago del Estero added Sportivo Loreto and Unión Santiago.
Tucumán completed the group with Ateneo Alderetes, Central Norte, San Pablo and San Antonio. The expansion reflects the role of local leagues in building a tournament that connects clubs of different sizes and regions within one national competition.
The overall list reached 220 authorised teams by 12 August. Approved leagues and institutions have until the 15th to confirm representatives and participation; the tournament is scheduled to start between 28 and 30 August, while the Federal Council may issue further licences.
