The fourth stage of the Federal A playoff now has dates, times, venues and referees for all four first legs. Douglas Haig host Gimnasia de Chivilcoy in Pergamino on Saturday 7 November at 16:00 with Juan Ignacio Nebbietti. Sunday brings Juventud Antoniana-Cipolletti at 17:00 under Lucas Cavallero and Sarmiento de La Banda-Alvarado at 18:00 with Maximiliano Silcan Jerez.

The fourth tie is scheduled for Thursday 12 at 15:30, when Kimberley host Olimpo at the José María Minella with Marcos Liuzzi refereeing. Stadium availability separates this Mar del Plata-Bahía Blanca series from the weekend block. Four extra days change recovery, opposition analysis and return-leg planning for both coaching staffs.

Alvarado meet Sarmiento de La Banda. The Santiago del Estero club host the first leg and the Mar del Plata team decide the tie at the José María Minella. The series links two distant football centres and adds a logistical element to the sporting challenge. Alvarado hold the sporting advantage; Sarmiento need to win at least one match or finish with a favourable aggregate margin to avoid elimination through equality.

Olimpo face Kimberley in a tie with a strong Buenos Aires provincial identity. The opening chapter takes place in Mar del Plata and the conclusion in Bahía Blanca. Both have travelled demanding paths, but Aurinegro retain the protection of higher seeding. Kimberley must control risk at home without turning the need for an advantage into disorder; Olimpo must manage the series without simply waiting for a draw.

The fourth tie matches Douglas Haig with Gimnasia de Chivilcoy. Pergamino hosts the first leg and Chivilcoy the return. Gimnasia have the sporting advantage and Douglas must break that equation. Geographic proximity reduces travel fatigue compared with other pairings, although regional familiarity and travelling support can increase intensity in two stadiums accustomed to high-pressure football.

The rules shape every strategy. A level aggregate is not enough for the clubs seeded fifth to eighth: if points and goal difference are equal, the higher side advances. Juventud Antoniana, Sarmiento, Kimberley and Douglas Haig therefore need some initiative, particularly at home. The four winners move into the fifth stage, still some distance from promotion because more elimination rounds remain.

The schedule turns the weekend and following Thursday into an extended first half of the quarter-finals. Gimnasia de Chivilcoy, Cipolletti, Alvarado and Olimpo host the returns and hold the sporting advantage if points and goal difference finish level. Their four opponents must build a real margin: the first leg cannot deliver promotion, but it can determine how much risk is required in the return.
