Resistencia hosts a new edition of the Fundación Conin Chaco road race on Sunday, 2 August. The start is scheduled for 07:00 from Plaza Belgrano, and the theme “21 kilometres for 21 years” connects the main distance with the institution’s anniversary.
The programme includes competitive courses of 21, 10 and 5 kilometres, as well as a participatory two-kilometre event without competitive status. The combination brings together runners with different levels of experience and adds a family option to the same meeting.
The 21-kilometre route reaches Puerto de Barranqueras before returning to Resistencia. The 10-kilometre event uses Villa Monona as its reference point before heading back, while the five-kilometre course remains entirely within the Chaco capital.
More than 250 people had registered by the time the event was presented, including 60 for the main distance. Organisers arranged free participation for people with disabilities, adding an access component alongside the range of courses.
Proceeds support Conin Chaco’s work with children experiencing malnutrition and their families. The institution’s programmes include early stimulation, educational support and comprehensive family assistance, giving the race a role in sustaining community work.
Race packs for participants from Resistencia, Barranqueras, Puerto Vilelas and Corrientes will be distributed on Saturday from 14:00 to 19:00 at the tourism offices in Parque de la Democracia. Provincial bodies, the Municipality of Resistencia and Puerto de Barranqueras are coordinating support for Sunday’s route.
