Argentina were crowned South American Under-17 futsal champions after beating Brazil 2-1 following extra time. The final was played on Sunday, 16 August at the CONMEBOL SUMA complex in Luque, Paraguay.

Alex Barrios opened the scoring after eight minutes with a powerful left-footed shot. Santiago Basile's team then had to reorganise after Gian Soñer was sent off in the 17th minute for an elbow.

Brazil equalised seven minutes into the second half through Luka Berroeco. The score remained 1-1 through the end of regulation and sent the final into extra time.

Lorenzo Sampedro delivered in the additional period. The Argentina captain struck left-footed to make it 2-1 and later lifted the trophy in Luque.

Argentina had finished second in Group B with nine points, beating Ecuador 5-0, Peru 8-0 and Bolivia 6-1 before losing 2-0 to Brazil. They defeated Venezuela 2-1 in the semi-final, while Brazil beat Paraguay 7-0.

It was Argentina's third consecutive title after they also defeated Brazil in the 2022 final, 2-1, and the 2024 decider, 2-0. The latest triumph made them the competition's most successful national team since its launch in 2016.
