The 2026 Copa País completed another week of competition and began to organize a map connecting league selections, cities and markedly different regions. The tournament, which started on 12 August, has already produced qualified teams, open ties and schedules for regional finals. Jujuy, San Jorge, La Plata and Trelew are among the best-positioned names, although much of the route will still be decided during September.
In the North, Jujuy overturned its knockout tie against Tartagal. It had lost the away leg 1-0 but won the return 2-0 through goals from Pablo Fabricio Carles and Axel Abdel Rivero, advancing 2-1 on aggregate. Its next assignment is the regional final against Tucumán: Jujuy will host the first leg on 16 September before the return is played on 23 September.
The Central Region is being played in a group format. Catamarca reached six points after beating Tinogasta 5-2 on 26 August; Valle Viejo have three and Tinogasta are still without a point. Three matchdays remain, scheduled for 2, 9 and 16 September. The winner will face Río Cuarto in a two-legged regional final taking place between 23 and 30 September.
In Cuyo, San Juan also lead with six points, ahead of Albardón and Rodeo. The third round delivered a 2-2 draw between San Juan and Albardón, following opening victories for San Juan over Rodeo and Albardón against the same opponent. The second stage will place the group winner opposite Tupungato, with the two matches scheduled for 23 and 30 September.
Litoral Sur supplied one of the closest decisions. Rafaela had won 1-0 in San Jorge, but San Jorge reproduced that result in the return through a goal by Julián Alberto Romero. A 1-1 aggregate score sent the tie to penalties, where San Jorge prevailed 4-2. In the other bracket, Paraná gained an advantage by winning 3-1 at Laguna Paiva before the return on 2 September.
Pampeana Norte combines qualified sides with one tie that remains active. La Plata defeated San Vicente 6-1 on aggregate and now wait in the regional final. San Nicolás eliminated San Pedro 3-2 before winning 2-1 at Chacabuco, through an own goal by Fernando Emanuel Paves and another score from Marcelo Ezequiel Ocanto. The 2 September return will decide who advances to face La Plata.
In Pampeana Sur, Guatraché and Bahía Blanca drew 0-0 in the first leg and left the whole decision for 2 September. Patagonia, by contrast, already has a winner: Trelew secured the region. That range of situations represents the federal logic of Copa País. Some zones require lengthy groups and others move through short ties, but all build a common route from local leagues toward national competition.
