Bahía Blanca became the latest regional champion of the 2026 Copa País by defeating Guatraché 2-1 in the Pampeana Sur return leg. After a goalless first meeting in La Pampa, the Liga del Sur selection settled the tie at home through goals from Enzo Paredes and Josué Matías Malmoria. Franco Olmos scored for the visitors, keeping the contest alive until the closing stages.

The 2-1 aggregate victory gives Bahía Blanca a prominent place in a tournament that began on 12 August and brings together league selections from many provinces. This title was not built on a rout but on 180 balanced minutes and a second leg in which every attack carried substantial weight. The celebration represents a city with a deep football identity and reinforces Buenos Aires province in the national picture.

Pampeana Norte also identified one of its finalists. San Nicolás overwhelmed Chacabuco 6-1 and completed an emphatic 8-2 aggregate win. Anastasio, Ocanto twice, Campiotti, Gómez and Luques scored for the winners, while Cirigliano replied. Their next opponent will be La Plata in a regional final scheduled across 9 and 16 September, where the scale of the latest victory will offer momentum but no automatic advantage.

In Litoral Sur, Paraná beat Laguna Paiva 4-0 with goals from Zapata, Morales Comas and a Fontana double. The tie ended 7-1 and confirmed superiority across both legs. Paraná will face San Jorge in the final on 9 and 16 September. The Santa Fe representative had eliminated Rafaela 4-2 on penalties after the two matches produced a 1-1 aggregate score.

Cuyo and Centro are progressing through different formats. San Juan defeated Rodeo 7-1 to reach nine points, ahead of Albardón and Rodeo, and the section winner will meet Tupungato on 23 and 30 September. In Centro, Valle Viejo beat Tinogasta 5-2 and joined Catamarca on six points. Their direct match on 9 September can establish control of the group.

The North already has Jujuy, a 2-1 aggregate winner over Tartagal, waiting for Tucumán in a final set for 16 and 23 September. Patagonia, meanwhile, belongs to Trelew. Some regions are therefore celebrating champions while others manage groups, semifinals and finals under individual calendars, an unavoidable feature of a competition designed to cover Argentina's very different football territories.

The 2 September update portrays a Copa País that has moved beyond its opening stage and begun to deliver tangible consequences. Bahía Blanca commands attention because its regional trophy is secured, yet the broader bracket remains dynamic: San Nicolás and Paraná advance with momentum, San Juan controls its group and Valle Viejo is applying pressure to Catamarca. September will turn this geographic diversity into one shared sporting route.
