Unión defeated Lanús 2-1 at Estadio 15 de Abril to secure their first victory of the 2026 Clausura. The match belonged to round two of Group A and allowed both clubs to complete a fixture that had remained outstanding on the calendar.

The first half ended goalless, but the tempo changed after the interval. Lucas Menossi opened the scoring for the Santa Fe side with a shot from outside the area, turning Unión's attempt to impose themselves at home into a tangible lead.

Lanús answered through Felipe Peña Biafore and brought the contest level again. Just as a share of the points appeared to be settling in, Joaquín Mosqueira struck with another long-range effort to establish the final 2-1 scoreline.

Both Unión goals came from distance and decided a night that had stayed tight throughout the opening half. Their ability to regain the lead after being pegged back was the competitive difference for Leonardo Madelón's team.

Nicolás Lamolina was the main referee and José Carreras operated the VAR. The result moved Unión to four points from three matches and turned their first home appearance of the tournament into the campaign's first celebration.

The win gives the Santa Fe team a platform from which to progress in Group A, while Lanús left empty-handed after finding a temporary equaliser. The postponed fixture now counts in the standings, and the Clausura moves forward without that round-two gap.
