The Argentine Professional Football League confirmed this Tuesday the complete schedule for the first five rounds of the 2026 Clausura Tournament, which will kick off on Saturday, July 25. The calendar includes standout matches such as the classic between River Plate and Boca Juniors, scheduled for the third round, and the duel between Racing Club and Independiente in round 5.

The tournament, which will grant two spots for the 2027 Copa Libertadores and one for the Sudamericana, will feature the 28 teams of the top tier. The first round will have action spread across Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, with the opening match at 3:30 PM at El Monumental, where River will host Sarmiento de Junín.

The second round, set for the weekend of August 1 and 2, brings the eagerly awaited clash between Boca and San Lorenzo at La Bombonera, while the third round (August 8 and 9) will pit the two giants of Argentine football against each other: River and Boca at El Monumental, one of the most attractive fixtures on the calendar.

For the fourth round (August 15 and 16), the highlight is the match between Independiente and Racing at the Cilindro de Avellaneda, while the fifth round (August 22 and 23) will close this first block with the Avellaneda superclásico, completing a string of high-tension games.

Liga president Marcelo Tinelli highlighted that "the schedule aims to guarantee spectacle and sporting equity, with timings that facilitate fan attendance and TV broadcasting." All matches will be broadcast live on the official platform and affiliated channels.

With this announcement, clubs have already begun adjusting their preseason preparations and coaching staff are fine-tuning tactical details. Fans are eagerly awaiting a tight tournament from the start, with teams like Defensa y Justicia, Talleres, and Vélez Sarsfield as potential frontrunners.

The League also reminded that schedules may be subject to changes due to broadcasting or weather conditions, and that any modifications will be communicated in advance. The remaining dates of the full calendar will be released next week.
