Godoy Cruz now have a proposed new date for their postponed Primera Nacional round 21 match against Deportivo Madryn. The fixture is expected to be played on Tuesday, 25 August, at the Chubut club’s stadium, although formal AFA confirmation is still pending.
The match was originally scheduled for Tuesday, 21 July. The round was reorganised after fixtures planned between Monday and that day were suspended, a decision linked to the Argentina national team’s return after the 2026 World Cup.
The rescheduling changes the calendar for Pablo De Muner’s side, who will travel to Puerto Madryn to face a direct rival. Godoy Cruz have 28 points and sit one point behind Deportivo Madryn.
Before that match, Godoy Cruz host Central Norte of Salta on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. at Feliciano Gambarte. They arrive after a 1-0 win over Defensores de Belgrano that ended three consecutive away defeats.
Godoy Cruz are ninth and a victory could return them to the playoff places. With the Deportivo Madryn trip moving towards late August, the immediate objective is to sustain the response and reach the postponed fixture in a stronger position.
