Boca Juniors beat Newell's Old Boys 2-0 at the Pedro Pompilio training ground in Casa Amarilla and opened round three of the women's Clausura with a second straight win. Brisa Priori and Luzmila Ramírez scored for Florencia Quiñones's team.
The match remained goalless at half-time. Boca had to persist against opponents trying to close the spaces, but found greater precision after the break and finally turned their superiority into goals.
Priori scored first and broke the Rosario side's resistance. Ramírez later extended the lead and secured a victory that allowed Las Gladiadoras to manage the closing stages without putting the result at risk.
The performance continued Boca's strong start after a 2-1 away win over defending champions Racing Club. Two victories from two matches took the Xeneize to six points at the beginning of the round.
Newell's were left with the opposite assessment. Defeat in Buenos Aires was the Rosario team's third in succession, and they are still searching for their first answers in a short, demanding competition.
Round three continues through Tuesday with six more matches. Boca have already set an early standard for the field: a clean sheet, goals shared by two players and a campaign that has yet to drop a point.
