Argentina will face England on Wednesday 15 July at 4:00 pm Argentine time at Atlanta Stadium in one of the 2026 World Cup semi-finals. The winner will secure a place in the tournament’s decisive match.

Argentina booked their place among the final four by defeating Switzerland 3-1 in Kansas City. The contest remained open throughout the 90 minutes and was settled in extra time, forcing the Argentine side to complete the full 120 minutes.

England reached the same stage after beating Norway 2-1 in Miami. The European team also needed extra time and came from behind through two Jude Bellingham goals to seal qualification.

The match brings together two world champions and a rivalry with a special place in the history of the tournament. Beyond the previous meetings, the immediate challenge is a contest between teams carrying accumulated fatigue and facing a limited recovery window.

France and Spain will contest the other semi-final on Tuesday 14 July in Dallas. The winner of Argentina against England will meet the winner of that tie in the final on Sunday 19 July at the New York/New Jersey Stadium.

Argentina’s next task is to recover, refine the details and sustain the competitive level that carried them through a demanding tie against Switzerland. Atlanta is the next stop in a campaign that has placed the defending champions one match away from competing for the title again.
